Get it clean
and keep it that way.

Pop-ups, browser hijacks, a machine that’s crawled to a halt, or something that’s clearly not meant to be there. We remove viruses, malware, spyware and adware, repair the damage they leave behind, and close the door they came in through.

Illustrative job · every machine differsFiles kept · no reinstall

Most people don't get a warning.
They get a feeling something's off.

Modern malware doesn’t announce itself with a skull on the screen. It hides, makes money quietly, and only becomes obvious once the machine can’t cope.

Speed

Everything has slowed to a crawl

The fan runs constantly, the machine takes minutes to boot, and simple tasks stall, because something else is using your processor for its own purposes.

Browser

Pop-ups and redirected searches

Adverts appearing over websites that never had them, a homepage you didn’t choose, or searches landing on a site you’ve never heard of.

Stability

Crashes and blue screens

Programs closing without warning, repeated blue screens, or Windows failing to start at all after a reboot.

Behaviour

Things happening on their own

Software you didn’t install, settings changing back, the mouse moving, or contacts telling you they’ve had odd emails from your address.

Defences

Your antivirus has been turned off

Protection disabled and refusing to re-enable, Windows Update switched off, or Task Manager blocked. That’s malware defending itself.

Extortion

A demand for payment

Files renamed and unopenable, a ransom note on the desktop, or a full-screen “call this number” warning. Disconnect from the network and ring us, don’t pay, and don’t call them.

Removal, repair,
and the reason it got in.

Deleting the file is the easy part. The job is making sure nothing is left behind to bring it back, and that the way in is closed.

Viruses & trojans

Classic infections that attach to files and spread. Removed from the running system and from the recovery points malware likes to hide in.

Spyware & keyloggers

Software recording what you type, capturing banking logins and passwords. The removal matters, but so does knowing what was exposed.

Adware & browser hijacks

Injected advertising, toolbars, forced search engines and extensions that reinstall themselves. Cleared from every browser profile on the machine.

Ransomware

Containment first, then assessment: what’s encrypted, what’s recoverable from versions or backup, and how it got in. We’ll be straight about what can and can’t be undone.

Cryptominers

Hidden software using your machine’s power to mine currency for someone else. Usually spotted as heat, noise and a machine that’s suddenly slow.

Email & account compromise

Where a mailbox is sending on your behalf. We stop the sending, reset access, check the forwarding rules attackers leave behind, and get MFA on.

Fake support & scam pop-ups

Full-screen warnings telling you to call a number. If someone has already been given remote access, we treat it as a full compromise and act accordingly.

Damage repair

Windows Update re-enabled, corrupted system files repaired, network settings restored, and the startup mess left behind cleared out.

Prevention afterwards

Licensed protection installed, updates switched back on, and ten minutes on how it got in, because the same door is usually the next way in too.

Cleaned properly,
not just scanned.

Anyone can run a scanner. The work is in what it misses, what it breaks, and what it leaves behind.

01Stage 1 of 4
Stage 01 · Contain

Stop it spreading first

Before anything else we take the machine off the network so nothing can reach shared drives, other computers or your backup. If accounts may be involved we get passwords changed and sessions revoked straight away, malware moves faster than a scan does.

  • Isolated from the network
  • Accounts secured
  • Backup protected
Stage 02 · Identify

Find everything, not just the obvious

We scan offline as well as in Windows, because malware that's running can hide from a scanner running alongside it. Startup entries, scheduled tasks, services, browser profiles and restore points all get checked, that's where the parts that rebuild themselves live.

  • Offline scanning
  • Persistence hunted
  • All profiles checked
Stage 03 · Remove & repair

Clean it out and put it back together

Threats removed, then the damage repaired: system files restored, Windows Update and security settings re-enabled, network configuration fixed, and the startup clutter cleared. Your files and programs stay where they are, we don't reach for a reinstall unless it's genuinely the right call.

  • Files kept
  • Damage repaired
  • Machine tested
Stage 04 · Protect

Close the door it came through

Licensed antivirus installed and configured properly, updates on, and a straight conversation about the route in, an attachment, a download, a shared password. If it was a business machine we'll say honestly whether one clean-up is enough or whether the estate needs managing.

  • Protection installed
  • Passwords advised
  • Route in explained

The infection is gone.
What did it take with it?

Removing the software is only half the job. If something was stealing credentials, the risk carries on long after the machine is clean, and this is the part cheap clean-ups skip entirely.

What a scan-and-go leaves behind

Saved passwords still exposed

Every password stored in the browser should be treated as known to somebody else. A scan doesn’t change one of them.

Mailbox rules left in place

Attackers routinely add a forwarding or delete rule to your mail so replies never reach you. It survives any amount of cleaning on the PC.

Security silently disabled

Updates off, protection off, restore points removed, so the machine looks fine and is wide open to the next one.

It comes back next week

One scheduled task or one browser profile missed and the whole thing reinstalls itself on the next reboot.

“We'll just reinstall Windows”

The lazy fix. It costs you your programs, your settings and often your files, and it still doesn’t address the stolen credentials.

What we do about it

A list of what to change

We tell you which accounts were reachable from that machine and the order to reset them in, email first, then banking, then everything reusing that password.

Mail account checked properly

Forwarding rules, sign-in history, connected apps and app passwords, the places compromise persists after the PC is clean.

MFA switched on

The single change that stops a stolen password becoming a stolen account. We’ll set it up with you rather than just recommending it.

Everything repaired, not reset

We fix Windows rather than flattening it. A reinstall is a last resort we discuss with you, never a default.

An honest word about next time

If it’s happened twice, one more clean-up isn’t the answer. We’ll tell you what actually changes the odds.

Stop paying for the clean-up.

One removal costs more than a year of protection. Our managed antivirus is licensed, installed, monitored and renewed by us, so it doesn’t quietly lapse or get switched off without anyone noticing.

  • Partnered with ESET - the leading engine, licensed properly, at the price we buy it for.
  • We watch the alerts - a real person sees the detection, not just a notification on a machine nobody's looking at.
  • Renewals handled - no expired licence, no lapse, no annual scramble.
  • Set up remotely, anywhere - installed and configured over remote support without a visit.
  • Steps up to EDR and ITDR - when antivirus alone stops being enough for a growing business.

One clean machine
is not a security position.

Removal is what you need today. These are the four layers that mean you don’t need it again, and they’re worth understanding in order.

Today · reactiveRemoval

Something is already on the machine. It gets contained, removed, and the damage repaired, with your files kept.

Baseline · every deviceAntivirus

Licensed, monitored, renewed. Catches the known threats automatically before anyone has to notice anything.

Business · behaviourEDR

Watches for what a threat does rather than what it is, the layer that catches the things antivirus hasn't seen before.

Accounts · identityITDR

Protects the logins themselves. Most business compromises now start with a stolen password, not an infected file.

Home users generally need the first two. Businesses handling client data should be looking at all four.

Fixed price for the clean-up.
Told before we start.

Most single machines are a same-day job. You’ll know the price up front, and if it turns out to be something bigger we’ll ring you rather than run up a bill.

Business incident

If we find the machine is failing rather than infected, we'll stop and tell you before charging for a clean-up you don't need.

Clean today,
protected tomorrow.

The three services people most often pair with a removal, usually in this order.

Managed antivirus & security

Licensed ESET antivirus, EDR and identity protection, monitored by us with renewals handled, so nothing quietly lapses.

Data recovery

Where ransomware or a failed clean-up has taken your files with it, we’ll tell you honestly what’s recoverable.

Remote support

Most clean-ups start with a remote session, we connect, look, and often fix it while you make a cup of tea.

Common questions

Before you get in touch.

Not as part of a normal removal, we clean the machine rather than wiping it, and your files, programs and settings stay put. If a machine is so badly damaged that a rebuild is genuinely the better option, we’ll tell you before doing anything and make sure your data is safe first.

A straightforward remote clean-up is often a few hours. A workshop clean with offline scanning and repairs is usually same-day or next-day, depending on how much repair work Windows needs afterwards.

Usually yes, as long as the machine still boots and can get online. You’ll see everything we do on your own screen. If it won’t start or the infection blocks remote access, it needs to come in.

Yes, from a different, clean device, and after the machine is cleaned rather than before. We’ll give you a list in priority order: email first, because that’s how everything else gets reset, then banking, then anything sharing that password.

No. Microsoft never puts a phone number on a warning screen. Don’t call it, and don’t let anyone connect to your machine. If you already have, disconnect from the internet and ring us, we’ll treat it as a compromise and check what was reached.

Often not, that’s the honest answer, and be wary of anyone who promises otherwise. What we do is contain it, work out exactly what’s affected, and look for recoverable copies in backups, versions and shadow copies. Disconnect the machine from the network and call us before doing anything else.

Usually one of three reasons: the licence had expired, it had been switched off, or the threat arrived through a person rather than a file, a convincing email, a fake download, or a password reused somewhere that leaked. We’ll tell you which it was.

Yes. Macs get far less malware than Windows but plenty of adware and browser hijacking, and phones tend to be scam apps and compromised accounts rather than viruses. Same approach: contain, clean, and check what was exposed.
